Why Use Pre-K Tip Sheets
Pre-emergent readers require some additional support when learning the foundational reading skills. The Pre-K
Tip Sheets contain suggestions on how to use Raz-Plus resources to support the teaching of phonological awareness, high-frequency words, and letter recognition; as well as small group instruction and/or guided reading and assessments.
They also provide ideas for whole-class, small-group, individual or center activities.
How to Use Pre-K Tip Sheets
Each Tip Sheet is accompanied by a collection of Raz-Plus resources that can be easily found by using the
links on the page.
Each sheet begins with a short introduction to the skill objectives and a brief explanation of how the
materials are organized.
The Resource Modification section provides detailed information on how to use the Raz-Plus materials with
Pre-K students, while the Instruction and Center Design section offer ideas for whole-class, small-group,
individual, and center activities.
The Tip Sheet culminates in suggestions for extension activities and ways to assess your students' skills.
