Learning A-Z is launching exciting new product features and instructional content for Back-to-School 2018. Here is a look at the updates, which create more choices for students and engage and motivate them in new ways!
Kids A-Z Student Portal Updates
New Student Portal Design
Learning A-Z now offers two unique designs for the Kids A-Z student portal. Teachers can provide older students the new, customizable design, or give them the original space theme. Either way, students have access to all of our award-winning content, at all levels.
NOTE: By default, students designated Grade 3 or above are now automatically set to see the intermediate design. You can control which design your students see, regardless of age, by adjusting the Student Portal settings in your Classroom Roster.
Customizable Student Avatars
The Robot Builder is expanding! The new Avatar Builder motivates students to read and complete more activities so they can earn more stars and build their own customized avatars based on interests and appearance.
NOTE: All students will receive 500 bonus stars when they first enter the new Avatar Builder. Their current robots have been carried over and replicated as closely as possible.
Incentivizing Badges
New Learning A-Z Badges reward students for achieving specific milestones. Teachers can use the new badges to help students set goals and complete more reading, writing, and science activities. Badges can even be printed out to send home or hang on the wall!
Updated Parent Portal
The revised Parent Portal strengthens the home-to-school connection by making it easy for parents to monitor their child's progress and send their child messages, using one centralized location for all products to which the child has access.
Online Reading Updates
Personalized Reading Room
The online Reading Room included with Raz-Plus and Raz-Kids now has a more contemporary design and makes it easier than ever for students to find level-appropriate books by topic, category, and popularity. In addition, students can save their favorite books for easy access anytime.
New Reading Content
New Spanish Resources
New leveled Authentic Spanish Books and Spanish Close Reading Packs in Raz-Plus, Raz-Plus ELL Edition, and Reading A-Z ensure that students in bilingual, dual-language, and Spanish immersion classrooms have access to culturally relevant content at their reading level. In addition, our leveled Spanish books have been updated to better meet the needs of your students
More Close Read Passages
Raz-Plus and Reading A-Z Close Read Passages are used as a reading and discussion activity to promote careful analysis of text and build critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. Look for new passages to be released every month!
New Science Content

Science A-Z Storylines are coherent series of lessons that integrate the three dimensions of NGSS* via phenomenon-based investigations, readings, and assessments.
