The Literacy Curriculum Map provides a pathway for using the wide array of Raz-Plus and Reading A-Z resources. This standards-aligned map is designed for teachers to use in their literacy block and organized into eight content-based units for each grade level. Each unit offers four Weekly Planners that include books, passages, writing lessons, and more to support instruction and differentiation, all conveniently pre-loaded and easily accessible in the Literacy Curriculum Map File Cabinet. Cross-curricular units include science, social studies, arts, and social-emotional learning topics.
Each unit is designed to incorporate leading research and best practices for literacy instruction.
The eight four-week long units within the Literacy Curriculum Map are designed to be used in sequence, from the beginning of the year to the end. Using the units in sequence provides the full benefit of the design, including the systematic phonological awareness and phonics instruction. These units can also be used independently by topic if preferred.
